Sexual assault and other attacks don't just happen in big cities. This recent news report is from Bluffton, South Carolina; a little town in South Carolina.

This attack happened on a trail I used to jog on regularly.

Sexual assault reported in woods near Bluffton community

A sexual assault was reported around 7:20 p.m. Thursday in a wooded area in Bluffton, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office news release.

A woman reported that she was attacked in the wooded area near the entrance of Sandy Pointe in Bluffton shortly after 7 p.m., according to the release. She had been walking on a trail when she was approached by a man, who then assaulted her, she told law enforcement. The area is being searched for the suspect Thursday night.

Deputies are interviewing the woman to get a better description of the suspect and get a better understanding of what happened, according to the release. The race, height, clothing and other descriptors are not yet clear.
